New technology may be able to prevent surgical implant infections

DeBogy Molecular, a biotech start-up, believes its innovative technology could change the surface and prevent infection from bacteria in implant procedures. Infections are often the problem when people need to have repeat surgeries to fix issues with their knee or hip implants. A biotech startup claims they have a solution. They can modify the surfaces of implants to repel bacteria. DeBogy Molecular a Biotech Company is currently working to develop antimicrobial material modification. This technology can kill bacteria that may grow on surgical implant surfaces and cause infections. This technology seemed to eradicate what's commonly known as bacterial "biofilm" -- microorganisms that cover surgical implants in laboratory tests.
